Supervision & ratios

  • DBS-checked leaders with youth-work or maritime competence oversee each session.
  • Minimum two adults present; ratios adjusted based on activity risk and participant needs.
  • Registers, medical needs, and emergency contacts confirmed at the start of every session.

Environment & equipment

Venues are checked for access, fire safety, first aid provision, and safeguarding suitability. Any afloat elements use certified vessels, PFDs, safety briefings, and weather checks; shore observers remain in radio contact.

Welfare & inclusion

Breaks, hydration, accessible facilities, and consent/photography preferences are planned in advance. Behaviour expectations are reinforced positively; any concerns follow the Incident Reporting procedure.
